PHOENIX — Five lucky people in Arizona are already having a very merry Christmas after winning $50,000 in Monday night’s Powerball drawing.
According to the Arizona Lottery, the winning tickets were sold at gas stations and convenience stores in the Valley, as well as in southern and northwest Arizona, including:
- The Chevron gas station near US 60 and Goldfield Road in Apache Junction.
- The QuikTrip gas station near Rural and Baseline roads in Tempe.
- The Circle K store near Orange Grove Road and La Cholla Boulevard in Tucson.
- The Eagles Landing Travel Plaza near Fleet Street and Anasazi Drive in Littlefield.
- The Terrible’s convenience store near U.S. Highway 93 and White Hills Road in White Hills.
The winning numbers in Monday night’s drawing were 3, 18, 36, 41 and 54 and the Powerball was 7.
To win the $50,000, the tickets needed to match four numbers and the Powerball. The odds of winning the prize are one in 913,129.
A total of nine Arizona Powerball players have now won big in drawings over the past week, as four players won $50,000 in Saturday’s drawing.
The winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their winnings.
When is the next Powerball drawing?
Powerball is a nationwide game of chance with drawings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Tickets cost $2 each and can be purchased at more than 3,000 locations statewide.
No one won the jackpot in Monday night’s drawing, meaning Christmas Eve’s drawing will be for an estimated $1.7 billion.
That would be the fourth-largest jackpot in Powerball history, if won.
The last time the top Powerball prize was claimed was in September, when players in Missouri and Texas split a $1.787 billion jackpot.
