Arizona Powerball ticket wins $2 million as jackpot balloons to $1.5 billion

PHOENIX – Have you checked your numbers? A ticket sold in Arizona won $2 million in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing as the massive jackpot went unclaimed yet again.

The Powerball website says two tickets – one from Arizona and one from Massachusetts – matched the five white numbers and doubled their $1 million payout with the Power Play option.

The Arizona golden ticket was purchased at the Minit Market at 63715 E. SaddleBrooke Blvd., north of Tucson.

Two other Arizona entries also returned significant payouts. A $200,000 winner was sold at the Fry’s Food And Drug at 44th Street and Thomas Road in Phoenix, and a $50,000 winner came from Cynthia’s Fine Gifts & Cards at 15470 N. 99th Ave. in Sun City.

What’s the jackpot for the next Powerball drawing?

The winning numbers Wednesday, when the jackpot was an estimated $1.27 billion, were 25, 33, 53, 62 and 66 with a red Powerball of 17.

The jackpot will grow to an estimated $1.5 billion ($686.5 million for the one-time cash payment option) for the next drawing on Saturday, potentially the seventh-largest prize in U.S. lottery history.

The only larger prize in 2025 was from the Sept. 6 Powerball drawing, when two tickets from Missouri and Texas split a $1.8 billion jackpot. That also was the last time a Powerball ticket matched every number drawn.

Powerball is a multistate game of chance with drawings every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night. Tickets cost $2 each and can be purchased at over 3,000 retailers around Arizona. The Power Play multiplier is an extra $1 per entry.

Arizona players have won seven-digit prizes twice this week. In addition to Wednesday’s big winner, a ticket from a Cave Creek car wash hit for $1 million in Monday’s drawing.
