4 Arizonans win $50K in Powerball as jackpot swells to $1.6 billion

Christmas came early for four Arizona lottery players who are each $50,000 richer after Saturday's Powerball drawing.

PHOENIX — Christmas came early for four Arizona lottery players who are each $50,000 richer after Saturday’s Powerball drawing.

According to the Arizona Lottery, the winning tickets were purchased at grocery stores, gas stations and convenience stores across the Valley, including:

The winning numbers drawn on Saturday night were 4, 5, 28, 52 and 69 and the Powerball number was 20.

In order to win, each ticket needed to match four of the five numbers as well as the Powerball.

Additionally, a shopper at the Circle K near Bell Road and 56th Street purchased a ticket that won $20,000 in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing.  

The winners have 180 days from the date the numbers were drawn to claim their winnings.

When is the next Powerball drawing?

Powerball drawings are held every week on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights.

The estimated jackpot for Monday’s drawing has grown to $1.6 billion, which would be the fourth-largest prize in Powerball history.

Tickets for the drawing are sold at more than 3,000 location around the Grand Canyon State and cost $2 each.
