Arizona Animal Welfare League offers free adult pet adoptions for a limited time

The Arizona Animal Welfare League is offering free adoptions for any of its pets 5 months and older beginning Saturday through June 28.

With summer time usually comes fewer adoptions, and AAWL’s shelter can often reach capacity and be crowded for pets seeking a permanent home.

There are numerous dogs to choose from during the limited time special, including Button (5 years old), Griff (2) and Tang (8). Cat lovers can be a hero for Yahoo (1), Sandy (1) or Fabulous (2).

Interested pet owners do not need to schedule an appointment.

However, AAWL requires all adopted dogs to leave its facility with a leash and collar. All adopted cats must remain in a carrier when going with their new caretaker.

Each adoption comes with the following coverages for pets:

• Spay or neuter surgery
• Up-to-date vaccinations
• Microchip installation (with free updates)
• 4DX testing

Cat adoptees also are provided with a pound of Hill’s Science Diet food.

The shelter is located at 40th and Washington streets and is open Tuesday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. AAWL is closed on Mondays.
