PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks are stepping up to the plate to help shelter dogs find their forever homes.
The local baseball team is continuing its yearslong partnership with the Arizona Animal Welfare League (AAWL) to meet its goal.
D-backs Give Back, the team’s charity arm, is launching a Slide into Love adoption special that will let adopters pay what they can to bring a furry friend home from AAWL’s two locations:
- The AAWL within Chandler Fashion Center at Frye and Price roads.
- AAWL’s main campus in Phoenix at 40th and Washington streets.
There’s just one catch: the deal applies to dogs 6 months and older.
But thanks to this event, which runs through July 4, animal lovers can name their own adoption fee for a limited time.
Animal welfare advocates at AAWL hope that, by having the Arizona Diamondbacks sponsor the adoption fees, the 65 pooches between its two Valley locations will slide into their new homes as quickly as possible.
