Phoenix tourism hits record $13.4 billion in visitor spending in 2025

Visitors to the Phoenix metro area spent a record $13.4 billion in 2025, averaging $36.6 million per day, according to a report released this week by Tourism Economics.

The region welcomed 47.7 million visitors last year, roughly consistent with 2024, with international travelers accounting for 3.6% of the total. While international arrivals dipped slightly, spending per international visitor rose 1.6%.

Major events continued to draw out-of-town crowds throughout the year, like the Waste Management Open and sports championships like the NCAA Women’s Final Four.

Visitor spending by the numbers

The direct spending generated an additional $10.3 billion in indirect spending, bringing the total impact to $23.6 billion, the report found.

Tourism supported about 96,600 direct jobs.

Visitor activity also generated $3.5 billion in government revenue, according to the report.

Ron Price, president and CEO of Visit Phoenix, said the numbers reflect Phoenix’s continued development paying off.

“The data reflects our community’s investment in expanding global connections, welcoming new development and celebrating experiences that drive growth,” Price said.
