Kyl: ‘Charming’ Romney can shine at Republican National Convention

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is scheduled to address the Republican National Convention on Thursday night and one Valley senator feels the former governor will shine.

“He’s very personable,” Sen. Jon Kyl told News/Talk 92.3’s Karie & Chuck on Thursday. “He has a charm. He has a charisma and there is humor in it as well. Maybe that will come through tonight, maybe it will eventually come through on the campaign. I just happen to know based on my being with him that he’s a very charming person.”

Kyl said he doesn’t expect Romney to focus on Obama’s record, but instead discuss his plans to improve the economy.

“I don’t think he has to get into a lot of detail about Obama’s record,” he said. “Everybody knows that. Obama’s made it worse, so how’s Mitt Romney going to make it better? I hope he lays out some of his specific ideas.”
