Gilbert group hosting first-ever breast cancer expo

A non-profit group in Gilbert is hosting together the First Annual Breast Cancer Resource Expo, set to begin this weekend.

Beckie Black, Marketing Director for breast cancer organization My Hope Bag, said the expo is designed to be everything a breast cancer patient needs under one roof.

“A woman or man on their breast cancer journey can come and discover all the things they might need to help them on their journey,” she said. “There’s doctors, surgeons, team specialists, nutritionists.”

Black said the idea for the expo came after her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

The expo is being held on Saturday at the Mesa Convention Center from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
