Michelle Donati with Triple-A Arizona said the agency has received over 34,000 battery-related calls since summer weather set in during May.

“If a battery is near the end of its lifespan, the heat wave that we are experiencing right now may be enough to push it over the edge,” she said.

Donati said the average lifespan of a battery in Arizona is about 32 months.
