Home construction numbers rise in United States
Home construction in the United States is back in business.
Home construction in the United States is back in business.
The U.S. Commerce Department said housing stats rose nearly seven percent last month.
Valley broker Russel Shaw said the numbers are especially true for Phoenix home builders.
“There are builders that are literally springing up all around the Valley and it’s simply because prices are rising enough to where they can build at a profit again,” he said.
The rise in builders could present the solution to the housing problem, both here and in the Valley, according to Shaw.
“As [prices] continue rising, it’s a good thing because, as the prices go up a little bit more — another 10 percent — what will happen is you’ll have home builders back in the game and our inventory problems will go away,” he said.
Shaw said that now is the best time in the last six years to sell a home. Anyone interested in buying a home should expect prices to increase.
