2-year-old in extremely critical condition after being found in inflatable pool in Avondale

A 2-year-old child is in extremely critical condition after being pulled from an inflatable pool in Avondale on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

A 2-year-old child is in extremely critical condition after being pulled from an inflatable pool in Avondale on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Officers were called to a home in the area of El Mirage and Buckeye roads around 3:45 p.m. after the child was found in the pool, according to the Avondale Police Department.

When police first arrived, the child had already been removed from the pool. Officers immediately began lifesaving measures before Avondale Fire and Medical crews took over.

The child was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.

It is not currently known how the child ended up in the pool as the investigation is ongoing.
