On Dec. 7, 2024, DPS Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives responded around 2:15 p.m. to a fatal collision on southbound US 93 northwest of Wickenburg.

While investigating the crash, detectives concluded that Mickelson was impaired when she struck a Toyota Sienna minivan head-on after her BMW sedan crossed the center line, DPS said.
