Police seek suspects in armed robberies of auto parts stores, GameStop

An armed robber with a preference for metro Phoenix auto parts stores.

“These robberies occurred over multiple dates in November and December of 2020,” Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Reaume said.

The suspect, who walked in looking ready to shoot, wasn’t looking for car parts; he wanted cash.

“I can’t imagine how terrifying that must be,” Reaume said. “From the surveillance video it looks like some kind of rifle or long gun.”

Reaume says the suspect is Hispanic, average build and in this early- to mid-20s. He typically wears a white hoodie and a dark face mask or bandana and drives a dark-colored SUV, possibly an early 2000s Ford Expedition.

Our next case is also an armed robbery, and this guy wasn’t playing around when he went into the GameStop at Baseline Road and Country Club Drive in Mesa. It happened March 12, 2020, just before 8 p.m. He gave the employee a note.

“On the note, it threatens him with a gun that if he didn’t give him the money he would shoot him,” Reaume said. “The employee did the right thing and just complied with the suspect.”

The robber is described as Hispanic and in his late 20s. His right ear is pierced and he was wearing a black sweater with gym shorts and leggings and was wearing slides with socks.
