Arizona Humane Society frees lost dog from cement wall, reunites him with Valley family

PHOENIX — The Arizona Humane Society came to the rescue of a lost dog who got his head stuck through a cement wall and later reunited Buddy with his family.

The nonprofit organization said it received a call last week about a 2-year-old American pit bull terrier mix stuck at a new build complex off 39th and Wier avenues in Phoenix.

Emergency animal medical technicians were able to free Buddy by slowly chiseling the wall around his head to create a hole large enough to safely remove him, AHS said.

The dog was taken to the organization’s trauma hospital to be treated for swelling and minor wounds on his head.

The AHS animal assistance department was able to find Buddy’s owners in Glendale after a few days and reunite him with the family.
