First we head to the Southwest Valley. It’s late Tuesday night, July 2, 2019, and the workers at ATL Wings at 33rd and Southern avenues are in the parking lot after just closing up for the night.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Jamie Rothschild says that’s when a car pulled in and stopped.
“When the two suspects got out of the vehicle they both had guns,” he says. “One pointed it at the group of employees.”
The other forced one of the workers, at gunpoint, back into the restaurant.
Sgt. Rothschild says, “The suspect told the employee to hand over cash from the register, which he did.”
The gunmen then took off in their car that’s described as a mid-2000s burgundy sedan, possibly a Ford Fusion.

Next, incredibly clear surveillance pictures of a terrifying armed robbery at an ATM.
“It was Thursday on the Fourth of July, 2019, at about 7 o’clock at night near 83rd Avenue and Indian School,” says Sgt. Rothschild.
A guy pulls up in a charcoal Dodge Ram 1500 four-door with after-market rims. He’s wearing a red and black baseball hat and a red California Golden Bear T-shirt, but what really stands out are his fancy rhinestone-covered black sunglasses.
“It’s such a distinctive feature,” says Sgt. Rothschild. “For somebody, that might be the key to identifying this guy.”
The man pulled out a gun and demanded money from the 19-year-old man using the ATM. The victim handed it over and wasn’t hurt.
