Police looking for Valley theft, armed robbery suspects in 2018 cases

Our first case takes us to a neighborhood near 150th Avenue and Cottonwood Street in Surprise. Sometime overnight on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, a vehicle was burglarized.

“When they broke into the vehicle, they stole credit cards,” Phoenix Police Sgt. Jamie Rothschild said. “Somebody then used these stolen credit cards.”

The credit cards were left in the vehicle. Rothschild said it’s really important to keep your cards protected.

“From the moment they’re in someone else’s control, they can be used immediately online, by phone and in person,” he said. “It sounds like these cards were used pretty quickly.”

A man used the stolen cards the very next afternoon in Youngtown. He was driving a white Ford F-150 with a tool box and a ladder rack.

Next, gunfire inside Tacos Mexico at 31st Avenue and McDowell Road. On Saturday night, Feb. 10, 2018, two guys walked in. While one acted as lookout, the other went straight to the register and pulled out a gun.

“When the suspect came into the taco shop, he didn’t just point the gun at the employee and order them to give him money” Rothschild said. “He actually fired a round.”

Rothschild said if it was meant to get the terrified worker to comply, it wasn’t necessary.
