PHOENIX — When two soccer teams clash next weekend to decide the champion of Europe, rival fans will be raising money for the victims of the Manchester bombing.

Fans of both Manchester United and Manchester City will meet at Tim Finnegan’s Irish Pub, located near Interstate 17 and Dunlap Road, on June 3 to watch the UEFA Champions League Final.

The bar will give 20 percent of the proceeds from that day’s sales to victims of the bombing.

The game begins at 11:45 a.m. and all fans are welcome.

Twenty-two people were killed and 59 more injured this week when a man detonated an IED outside of an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England.

Medical officials said an 8-year-old girl was among the dead and 12 children under the age of 16 were among the injured.

Grande announced Friday that she will return to the city on an undetermined date to play a benefit concert.

“Our response to this violence must be to come closer together, to help each other, to love more, to sing louder and to live more kindly and generously than we did before,” she wrote.

The Islamic State group claimed one of its “soldiers” was responsible, but United States intelligence said it hadn’t verified that assertion.

President Donald Trump referred to the people responsible for the attack as losers.

“So many young, beautiful, innocent people living and enjoying their lives murdered by evil losers in life,” he said.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
