PHOENIX — Vice President Mike Pence will reportedly visit the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona this week, a week after former Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen stopped in Yuma.

According to CNN, Pence will visit the Border Patrol station in Nogales, Arizona, on Thursday.

The visit will reportedly include a briefing from Customs and Border Protection agents and a tour of the border wall.

Gov. Doug Ducey told KTAR News 92.3 FM he would accompany the vice president on his visit.

No other details were immediately provided.

Pence last visited Arizona in March, when he met with Gov. Doug Ducey and participated in several business-oriented events.

Nielsen visited Arizona to call on Congress to address what she called a “humanitarian and security crisis” at the border.

She was in the southern Arizona city to participate in a roundtable discussion with border and immigration officials before visiting the border wall in California with President Donald Trump.

Nielsen resigned several days later. U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Kevin McAleenan is expected to replace her.

We want to hear from you.
