Arizona U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego is calling on President Trump once again to end the Iran war
Arizona U.S. Senator Ruben Gallego is calling on President Trump once again to end the Iran war, saying that is the most direct path to lowering the price at the pump and costs in general for Americans. That as AAA reports a statewide average of $4.60 for a gallon of gas in Arizona.
While Sen. Gallego says the Desert Southwest natural gas pipeline that will link Arizona and Texas will be a big help for our state, he says the Iran war is the single biggest factor driving up costs now. Sen. Gallego also says he supports temporary gas tax relief.
He says, "Trying to push this president to end this war is the most important thing we can do."
In March, the senator held a similar event at the same Valley gas station. At the time he urged the EPA to waive Arizona's summer blend gas requirement and for the IRS to increase gas mileage reimbursements for small businesses to help with prices. While both happened, Gallego says that relief has trailed behind the increased cost from the Iran war.
