PHOENIX — Christmas is a month away, but Santa came early for one lottery player in Fountain Hills.
A winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold at a Fry’s grocery store near Palisades and Shea boulevards on Wednesday.
The winning numbers were 9, 20, 26, 43 and 58, with a red Powerball number of 9.

The next estimated jackpot is up to $130 million.
Arizonans can set up a loved one to be a be winning lottery player
One gift Arizonans can give their friends and family is an Arizona Lottery holiday ticket. These holiday scratchers and tickets start at $1.
They feature seven games with festive themes, such as Secret Santa Fast Play tickets or cash scratchers that smell like gingerbread.
Alec Thomson, the executive director of the Arizona Lottery, said players can win up to $500,000.
“Giving the gift of Arizona Lottery tickets is a longtime tradition for many of our players,” Thomson said in a news release last month. “We are excited to offer players the chance to experience holiday cheer with these tickets and their top prize offerings.”
Lottery players also have a chance to win a 2025 holiday vacation in Hawaii.
As with all Arizona Lottery games, the winner has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the payout.
