PHOENIX — Registration is open to bicycle riders of all levels to enroll in this October’s Cycle Avondale event featuring a revised route which features Phoenix Raceway.

The 31-mile bike ride event, presented by Avondale Toyota, will begin at 7 a.m. on Oct. 2 at the city civic center near Avondale Boulevard and Van Buren Street.

The route will include 11 miles on the race track, and aims to highlight the city’s communities, parks, views of the Estrella Mountains and nearby wetlands, the event organizer said in a press release.

There will be minor changes in elevation entering and leaving the race track with the majority of the route being on mostly level terrain.

Riders can beat the check-in lines by picking up their race participation packets on Sept. 30 between 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. at the Packet Pick Up Party at 8-bit Aleworks near Dysart Road and Van Buren Street.

An after party following the cycling event at the Avondale Civic Center Campus will include a post-race meal by Whataburger and drinks from 8-Bit Aleworks.

Registration fees cost $85 through Aug. 31, while late registrations of $100 will be accepted until the start of the ride.

Tickets can be purchased online and will include a race bib, event raffle entry, a ride token and a yearly event T-shirt for the first 200 pre-registered riders.

Check-in will begin at 6 a.m.
