Woman dies after car rear-ended by DUI suspect on Camelback Road

PHOENIX – A woman who was in a vehicle rear-ended by a driver suspected of being impaired last week in central Phoenix has died, authorities said Monday.
The collision occurred around 2:30 a.m. Friday when a black sedan stopped or slowed on Camelback Road near Central Avenue and was hit from behind by a red SUV, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
A passenger in the sedan, 37-year-old Andreanna Blaine, was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition, and she died Saturday, police said.
The SUV driver, 42-year-old Thaila J. Begaye, was arrested at the scene and booked on suspicion of driving while impaired.
Police said the case remains under investigation and additional charges are pending.
No other information was immediately available.
