PHOENIX — Landmark Theatres is embarking on its first Valley development with plans to open later this year at Scottsdale Quarter, officials announced Friday.

The eight-screen venue is set to open in the former IPIC Theatres space near Scottsdale Road and Greenway Parkway this fall, Scottsdale Quarter officials said in a release.

No official opening date has been announced.

“We’re excited to add Landmark Theatres to our elevated retail lineup and to bring a unique moviegoing experience to the community,” Richard Hunt, general manager of Scottsdale Quarter, said in the release.

“The new cinema will be a great compliment to the shopping center and adds to our already dynamic offering of shopping, dining and entertainment.”

Landmark Theatres has 220 screens across 23 markets and offers residents and visitors the chance to watch movies in an upscale setting.

“We are very excited to extend our brand in a beautifully designed luxury theatre in an upscale center,” Paul Serwitz, Landmark Theatres president and COO, said in the release.

“This announcement is especially joyous for us, coming out of a period of pandemic-induced retraction of business in the world at large.”
