The Phoenix Police Department is mourning the death of a veteran law enforcement officer.
Sgt. James Lukash died at a hospital after an unspecified medical event at home, the department announced Friday.
Lukash had been with the force for 22 years and was assigned to the Violent Crimes Bureau when he died.
“Rest in peace, Sgt. Lukash, you will be dearly missed,” the department said while announcing his death on social media.
