Authorities on Friday canceled a SAFE Alert for a missing 57-year-old Phoenix woman after she was located.

The alert for Carla Leguero was issued Thursday. At the time, she was last seen near 43rd and Peoria avenues around 6 a.m. that morning.

“Carla has been located safe and is with family,” Phoenix Police Lt. Vince Lewis said in an email Friday morning.

Authorities said Leguero has a medical condition that can cause her to become confused.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
