PHOENIX – Overflowing with animals needing homes, the Arizona Humane Society is offering free and reduced-price pet adoptions through Friday.
The nonprofit shelter is temporarily waiving adoption fees for dogs and cats ages 6 and older and cutting the rate in half for younger furry friends.
The critters can be viewed and appointments scheduled online for two locations: Nina Mason Pulliam Campus for Compassion at 1521 W. Dobbins Road in Phoenix and the PetSmart at 4380 N. Miller Road in Scottsdale.
All available pets are spayed/neutered, microchipped and caught up on their vaccinations. Each adoption comes with a free follow-up veterinary exam and bag of food.
AHS has nearly 200 animals ready for their forever homes and is caring for more than 1,100 critters at its facilities and in foster homes.
This week’s special will help create room for more pets at the adoption centers. AHS doesn’t euthanize animals because of long stays at shelters or lack of space.
