PHOENIX — An Amber Alert was canceled after a toddler girl who been taken by her mother from a Surprise home was found safe, authorities said late Tuesday.
Fallon Costello, 27, and 2-year-old daughter Paytan Costello, were found at a Greyhound bus station in San Bernardino, California, around 10:30 p.m., nearly 12 hours after they left home near 99th Avenue and Greenway Road.
The Surprise Police Department said Costello climbed out a bedroom window with her daughter around noon Tuesday while a Department of Child Safety investigation was underway in the home.
Sgt. Tommy Hale said the little girl was in the custody of the child welfare agents.
Costello had last been seen in the area of Reems and Greenway roads getting into a late model white Dodge Caravan that has a sticker in the front passenger window, police said.
No additional information was available.
The investigation continues, police said.
