PHOENIX — The Phoenix Zoo is combining its socially-distanced Cruise the Zoo event with its holiday festivities twice this week.

Cruise the ZooLights will run Thursday and Friday nights from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., the zoo announced Wednesday in a press release.

The event is a combination of Cruise the Zoo, which allowed guests to see animals and exhibits from the comfort of a vehicle during the coronavirus pandemic, and the annual ZooLights celebration that features millions of holiday lights.

Guests will be able to tour the Africa trail and the new Wildlife Lantern Safari, which features more than 60 animals.

The zoo will close at 3 p.m. each day in preparation for the night event.

Tickets must be purchased in advance on the zoo’s website.

They are $75 per car for general admission and $60 per car for members. Cars must be in line by 9:30 p.m. to ensure entry.

Face coverings and other coronavirus precautions are required for those who interact with zoo staff throughout the cruise.

The zoo also has five more Cruise the Zoolights dates set for later in November.

We want to hear from you.
