Drive-by shooting at Phoenix bus stop sends woman to hospital

The victim was waiting Friday morning on 51st Avenue near Interstate 10 when a vehicle stopped and someone inside shot at her, police said.

A woman was hospitalized after being injured in a drive-by shooting early Friday morning, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The woman was at a bus stop on 51st Avenue just south of Interstate 10 when a vehicle stopped and someone inside shot at her, police said.

Officers responded to the scene at 3:30 a.m. and found the injured victim.

Medical personnel with the Phoenix Fire Department brought her to a hospital for treatment.

Police described her injuries as non-life-threatening.
