1 dead, 2 people injured in Glendale car crash involving a child

PHOENIX — A crash involving two vehicles Saturday night left two passengers, including a 12-year-old girl, injured and one man dead in Glendale.
Glendale police responded to the incident around 11:13 p.m. Saturday night near 59th Avenue and Union Hills Drive.
Officials say that the two vehicles were traveling eastbound on Union Hills Drive from 63rd Avenue when one car rear ended the other.
The car that was hit contained four people inside. An adult male riding in the backseat driver’s side was pronounced dead at the scene. The 12-year-old girl who was riding in the rear passenger side was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
The driver of the car that was hit sustained non life threatening injuries while the front seat passenger was not injured, authorities said.
Neither of the two occupants of the other car were injured.
Both speed and impairment are under investigation.
No further information was given at this time.
