Shooting at a Phoenix apartment complex leaves teenage boy dead

Phoenix Police are investigating a shooting that took place at a Phoenix apartment complex parking lot Saturday night that left one 16-year-old boy dead.

PHOENIX — Phoenix Police are investigating a shooting that took place at a Phoenix apartment complex parking lot Saturday night that left one 16-year-old boy dead.

Officers responded to the area of 67th Avenue and McDowell Road just before 7:30 p.m. and found the boy with gunshot wounds.

He was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Initial information from witnesses said the boy was talking to a group of people prior to the shooting, according to police.

Phoenix police are still working to identify a suspect and a motive.
