SAFE Alert issued for 73-year-old man who was reported missing out of Chandler

Authorities issued a SAFE Alert on Tuesday for a 73-year-old man reported missing out of Chandler.

Danny Jerald Perkins was last seen about 7 a.m. Monday in a neighborhood near Alma School and Ray roads. He was driving a black 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Arizona license plate W9A3R3.

Perkins is described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 200 pounds. He is bald and has hazel eyes.

He left without the medication and supplies he needs to treat his medical conditions.

Perkins is known to frequent the Sycamore Creek area of Tonto National Forest, authorities said.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or contact the Chandler Police Department at 480-782-4130.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
