5 injured in Scottsdale car crash with golf cart

PHOENIX – Police in Scottsdale said Monday they arrested a man accused of crashing a car into a golf cart and injuring five people.
Robert Gandara, 22, hit the cart on Miller Road near Chaparral Road on Sunday around 2 a.m., police said in an email.
The impact from behind ejected four women from the cart and the man behind the wheel.
Gandara was taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated assault and several other felony charges.
Four of the cart passengers were taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but they were not life-threatening. A fifth cart occupant suffered minor injuries.
Gandara was not hurt.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
