Mesa police officer struck by vehicle in hit-and-run, suspect outstanding

PHOENIX — A police officer was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in Mesa on Saturday night, according to the Mesa Police Department.

The motor officer was responding to a report of multiple cars doing donuts in a parking lot near Dobson and Guadalupe roads.

According to police, the officer reported that he was hit by the vehicle once he was on scene.

The officer only sustained minor injuries, police said.
