Italian steakhouse scheduled to open in north Scottsdale in 2020

PHOENIX — In 2020, people in the Valley will be able to experience an Italian style to an American classic.

Pomo Restaurant Group announced in a press release it will be opening The Americano, an Italian steakhouse, early next year.

The steaks will be made with meat including purebred Piedmontese cattle and Wagyu beef to go with classic Italian dishes such as pasta and antipasti and Mediterranean seafood.

“The Americano will bring the best of Italian firepower cuisine with the finest American steaks,” general manager Paride Guerra said in the release. “We want to offer guests a contemporary dining experience that merges both Italian and American influences.”

The 7,000-square-foot restaurant will use a wood-fired grill to make food for guests in the dining room at crescent-shaped booths and butcher block tables or those on an outdoor dining patio.

The Americano will be located on Scottsdale Road, north of Bell Road/Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard. There is not yet a set open date, though it is scheduled for early 2020.

The restaurant plans to hire 60-80 people. It will hold a job fair for all positions Jan. 3-4 and Jan. 6-8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pomo Corporate Office, located at 5727 N. Seventh Street.
