PHOENIX – Several Salvation Army red kettle buckets received generous donations over the past week and a half.
Three red kettles each received an anonymous donation of a 1-ounce American Eagle Gold Bullion coin.
The coins are estimated to be worth $1,400 to $1,500 each, according to the Salvation Army.
“We feel very blessed to have received these very generous gifts,” Major David Yardley, “The Salvation Army Metro Phoenix Program Coordinator,” said in a press release.
The coins were donated at locations in Mesa, Apache Junction and Goodyear.
Donations to The Salvation Army help provide year-round outreach that provides food, shelter, disaster and heat relief, among other services.
The Salvation Army’s red kettle campaign runs through Christmas Eve at storefronts across the Valley.
