PHOENIX — A motorcyclist died early Tuesday after he was rear-ended on a Phoenix freeway, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Trooper Jonathan Montes said the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Loop 101 east of 51st Avenue when it was hit.
The rider, identified Wednesday as 24-year-old Noah Clementson of Wittman, was ejected and hit by another vehicle and a commercial vehicle, Montes said.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The other drivers were not injured and stayed on the scene. Montes said no criminal charges were pending.
The freeway’s right and center lanes were blocked around 5:15 a.m., causing backups that remained throughout rush hour.
