PHOENIX – Police in Mesa arrested a woman early Thursday morning for allegedly driving while intoxicated with her children in the car, authorities said.
Emily Arthur was taken into custody during a traffic stop near University Drive and Horne around 1 a.m., according to an email Friday from Mesa Police Detective Nik Rasheta.
Police had responded to the area after a man reported that his girlfriend was drunk and trying to drive with her four kids in the vehicle.
Officers pulled over the car that matched the description given by the caller and arrested Arthur.
She was charged with four counts of aggravated DUI with passengers under 15. The children were released to a family member, Rasheta said.
