Phoenix man accused of posting sexual images of children online

PHOENIX — A north Phoenix man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly uploading sexually explicit images of children to a social media account.

Phoenix police said the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted them to an IP address connected to the images.

A subpoena on the IP provider led them to 19-year-old Christopher Treacy’s home near Interstate 17 and Greenway Road.

Police said Treacy admitted to viewing child pornography since he was 10 years old, according to court documents.

They said he admitted to trying to engage children in sexual activity online and exchanging sexually explicit images with a 9-year-old girl when he was 16.

According to the documents, Treacy also said he secretly recorded and took photos of girls’ “private parts” at his high school and posted the images online.

After one of the girls found out and broke off their friendship, he said, he broke his phone.

He told police his new phone did not have explicit photos of children on it, but police said an email address linked to the flagged social media account was found on the phone.

Treacy was booked on eight charges of child sexual exploitation for the eight files found on the social media account.

Police said they recovered the old phone from a trash can in Treacy’s backyard and analysis of it is pending.

He is being held on $75,000 bond and will appear in court Aug. 20.
