Southbound SR-87 reopens near Payson after closing due to brush fire

PHOENIX — The southbound lanes of the State Route 87 south of Payson have reopened, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

The lanes were closed near milepost 242 after being closed earlier due to a brush fire, according to ADOT.

SR 87 SB south of Payson: The roadway is reportedly blocked at MP 242 due to a brush fire. There is no estimated reopening time.
