The driver of a dump truck was killed in a rollover crash on a West Valley freeway exit ramp Thursday morning, authorities said.
The single-vehicle collision occurred on the eastbound Interstate 10 off-ramp at Jackrabbit Trail in Buckeye about 5:30 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Citing preliminary information, DPS said the truck, which was carrying sand, apparently overturned after a tire failed and the driver lost control.
The driver, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The ramp from eastbound I-10 to Jackrabbit Trail was closed during rush hour for the investigation.
