Bicyclist suffers serious head injury in hit-and-run collision in Phoenix

A bicyclist was critically injured in an apparent hit-and-run collision in Phoenix on Thursday morning, authorities said.

A bicyclist was critically injured in an apparent hit-and-run collision in Phoenix on Thursday morning, authorities said.

Officers responded to the area of 27th Avenue and Lamar Road, just south of Glendale Avenue, about 5:30 a.m. and found a man with a serious head injury, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The patient was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police didn’t have a description of the vehicle involved.

Investigators are working to determine how the collision occurred and locate the driver.

Sun's up at that time. No bike lanes, but 5 lanes for drivers. The crime is poor street design.
