Phoenix freeway closures are coming this weekend as four construction projects will shut down or squeeze lanes on State Route 51, Loop 202 Santan Freeway, Loop 101 Price and Pima freeways, and Lindsay Road, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

The traffic authority broke down the different closures in its weekend travel advisory.

SR 51 southbound shuts down again for pavement work through Monday

Southbound SR 51 closes between Indian School Road and Interstate 10 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for an ongoing pavement improvement project.

Southbound on-ramps will be closed at Glendale Avenue, Bethany Home Road and Highland Avenue. ADOT marked Seventh or 24th streets as the best alternative route to reach I 10 and Loop 202.

The I 10 westbound on-ramp at 7th Street is also closed for maintenance during this same period.

Widening project sparks multiple freeway and road closures on the south side

Eastbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway closes between Price Road and Arizona Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.

Southbound Loop 101 Price Freeway ramps to eastbound Loop 202 will also be closed for the same work.

Alternative routes include Chandler Boulevard and Germann Road.

As part of the same widening project, Lindsay Road closes in both directions at Loop 202 Santan Freeway from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Drivers can use Germann or Pecos roads to Gilbert Road or Val Vista Drive to travel beyond Loop 202.

Loop 101 has back-to-back closures on both the Price and Pima freeways

Northbound Loop 101 Price Freeway closes between University Drive and Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement improvements. Consider Alma School Road and McClintock Drive as alternate routes.

In the northeast Valley, northbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway is narrowed to two lanes between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday while crews improve the pavement.

Expect on- and off-ramp closures at times and allow extra travel time. Southbound Loop 101 also squeezes down to two lanes in the same stretch from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.
