In a busy weekend for construction crews, road projects will shut down lanes and ramps on Interstate 10, Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway, Loop 202 Santan Freeway, Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway and State Route 51 this weekend, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
The closures run from Friday night through 5 a.m. Monday, according to the weekend travel advisory.
Eastbound I-10 closing for interchange work in West Phoenix
Eastbound I-10 shuts down from 99th and 75th avenues in west Phoenix starting at 9 p.m. Friday. Crews are working on an interchange improvement project.
That work closes the southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound I-10 as well as the eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Avondale Boulevard.
ADOT suggests using Buckeye Road or McDowell Road to get around the closure.
Westbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway closing for widening work
Westbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway shuts down between 51st and 75th avenues in the northwest Valley starting at 10 p.m. Friday as crews widen the roadway.
North- and southbound I-17 ramps to westbound Loop 101 will close, along with on-ramps at 27th and 35th avenues.
ADOT flagged westbound Union Hills Drive or Bell Road as alternative routes.
Santan Freeway will close between Price Road and Arizona Avenue
Eastbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway shuts down between Price Road and Arizona Avenue in Chandler starting at 10 p.m. Friday for a widening project.
The ramp from southbound Loop 101 Price Freeway to eastbound Loop 202 will also close.
ADOT suggests using eastbound Chandler Boulevard, Frye Road or Germann Road as detours.
Eastbound US 60 Superstition Freeway is another alternative route.
Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway ramps closing near Loop 101
Westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway ramps to north- and southbound Loop 101 in the Tempe area close starting at 8 p.m. Friday for a pavement improvement project.
The southbound Loop 101 ramp to eastbound Loop 202 and the westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Dobson Road will also close.
ADOT will have traffic exit ahead of the ramp closures and suggests southbound Dobson Road to westbound Rio Salado Parkway or northbound Alma School Road to westbound McKellips Road to connect back with Loop 101.
Southbound SR 51 narrowing to two lanes
Southbound SR 51 narrows to two lanes between Shea Boulevard and Northern Avenue starting at 9 p.m. Friday for a pavement improvement project. On- and off-ramps in the area may close at times during the weekend.
When the ramps at Shea Boulevard are closed, drivers can use the ramps at Cactus Road. When the off-ramp at Northern Avenue is closed, drivers can exit at Glendale Avenue.
Southbound I-17 is available as an alternative route to downtown Phoenix.
