Eastbound US 60 reopened near Apache Junction on Friday evening after an hourslong closure, authorities said.

Eastbound US 60 reopened near Apache Junction on Friday evening after an hourslong closure, authorities said.

The freeway closed around 2:18 p.m. due to a crash near Ironwood Drive, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The westbound lanes of the highway were not affected by the collision.

The traffic authority noted that cleanup and emergency repairs had to be done due to the crash.
