Northbound State Route 87 reopens northeast of Phoenix following closure for brush fire
A brush fire caused a closure of northbound State Route 87 on Thursday afternoon but it was back open within an hour of closing, authorities said.

A brush fire caused a closure of northbound State Route 87 on Thursday afternoon but it was back open within an hour of closing, authorities said.
The closure was south of where SR 87 met State Route 188 on the way to Payson, around 80 miles northeast of Phoenix.
The southbound lanes weren’t affected by the closure.
