Eco-friendly apartments completed in downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX — A set of 70 eco-friendly apartments have been completed in downtown Phoenix, and applications for residence are being accepted, according to a Tuesday press release.

ECO Phoenix, a centralized five-story building which is 125,000 square feet in size, is located at 3rd Avenue and Roosevelt Street.

The offered apartment units are studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom. Studios start at $1,570 a month whereas one-bedroom start at $2,075 and two-bedroom at $2,775.

Besides incorporating solar panels on the complex’s rooftop, residents can look forward to a car-share program and greywater recycling, the release said. EV chargers in the building’s parking garage are another perk for prospective residents.

“ECO Phoenix supports the city’s ongoing commitment to sustainable growth while providing residents with access to eco-conscious living in the downtown urban core, and of one of the city’s most dynamic neighborhoods,” CCBG Architects partner Paul Ladensack said in the release. “By integrating renewable energy solutions and innovative sustainability programs, ECO Phoenix helps set a new standard for responsible residential development.”

Other details on new eco-friendly apartments in Phoenix

The project was worth $20 million and advertised its “year-round clean energy” from solar panels will decrease residents’ power bills by as much as 50%.

Each living space features the following amenities: quartz countertops, “wood-style flooring” and stainless steel appliances.

There is a rooftop recreation area that includes a pool as well as a fitness center inside the complex.

On the first floor are several retail spots, highlighted by bakery Proof Bread, which has existing locations in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Gilbert.

Residents are a short walk from the Valley Metro light rail and sports venues like Chase Field and PHX Arena.
