Arizona’s largest used book fair returns to state fairgrounds for Valentine’s Day weekend

PHOENIX — For book lovers this Valentine’s Day, the VNSA Book Sale, the largest of its kind in Arizona, might be the best way to spend the holiday weekend.

The 69th annual sale will be set up at the Arizona State Fairgrounds’ Agriculture Center Feb. 14 and 15. The sale is free to get in, with parking available for purchase at the fairgrounds.

The sale runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The 2026 VNSA Book Sale theme is “Fall in Love With Books,” inviting readers to find the next great love story in any of the expected 600,000 books, CDs, DVDs and more the fair’s volunteers have to offer.

“There’s something magical about finding the one,” Sue Burns, the 2026 event chair, said in a statement. “We hope book lovers fall head over heels for the sale, and for the causes their purchases support.”

The 2025 VNSA Book Sale reported 12,000 customers and $536,000 raised for local nonprofits. The sale has raised $10 million since the its inception in 1967. VNSA says this year’s proceeds will go toward Literacy Phoenix, Duet: Partners in Health and Aging and the Phoenix Conservatory of Music.

“When you shop the VNSA Book sale, you’re not just buying books, you’re sharing the love,” Don Maxwell, VNSA president, said in the release. “This sale is truly a love letter to our community. Every purchase turn the page toward something bigger, supporting literacy, music education and services for aging adults.”
