Serial rapist sentenced in Maricopa County

A man who sexually assaulted four women in Maricopa County will spend more than three decades behind bars, authorities announced Friday.

Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell said 34-year-old Tevin Favor was sentenced to 34 years in prison after being convicted on four counts of felony sexual assault

Favor’s trial began April 10, and a jury returned guilty verdicts on all counts on May 28.

Prosecutors secured the conviction despite a delay in reporting from some of the victims. They established a clear pattern across the assaults, noting distinct similarities in the victims’ ages and physical appearances.

Favor used coercion or physical force in each incident, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Mitchell praised the victims for their resilience throughout the investigation and legal process.

“These women showed extraordinary courage. Coming forward about being sexually assaulted, knowing you’ll have to relive it in detail in front of strangers in a courtroom, takes a different kind of bravery,” Mitchell said in a statement. “Their willingness to do so didn’t just bring them justice; it helped put a serial rapist behind bars and protect other women from being harmed in the future.”
