PHOENIX — Local nonprofit Valleywise Health opened the doors to a new 26,000-square-foot facility in North Phoenix on Monday, the organization announced in a press release.

The new Valleywise Community Health Center, located near 19th and Northern Avenues, aims to bring affordable, quality health care to low-income communities.

“We have always been recognized for our exceptional care, and now with state-of-the-art facilities like this in Sunnyslope, current and new patients will experience the Valleywise Health difference,” Steve Purves, president and CEO of Valleywise Health, said in the release.

Patients can request in-person or telehealth appointments for a multitude of services, including primary and pediatric care, OB/GYN, radiology and behavioral health.

The facility also features an on-site laboratory for testing, as well as a pharmacy for easy prescription pick-up.

“Having served this neighborhood for many years, we understand what the needs of the community are and with a larger facility and expanded services, our staff and District Medical Group physicians look forward to expanding the care we can provide to families of North Phoenix,” Purves said.

The new center replaces a previous facility that was at Hatcher Road.

Valleywise Health currently operates 12 community health centers across the Valley, along with three behavioral centers and Valleywise Health Medical Center, Arizona’s only public teaching hospital.

The organization says they are continuing to expand with another new community health center set to open in Peoria in late January 2021.
